Deals with the safety of electrical appliances incorporating emitters for exposing the skin to optical radiation (wavelength 100 nm to 1 mm), for household and similar use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. The IEC text takes effect from 30 June 2018 except for the change to the title which takes effect from 30 June 2016. The 2016 edition will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.27:2010 on 30 June 2018. Adopted with national modifications from, and includes the text of, IEC 60335-2-27 Ed 5.2.
