Provides for the protection of persons from injury and illness and of property (including equipment) from damage by fire and other causes arising from welding and cutting. Provides basic safety requirements for all welding and cutting, regardless of the field of application, including construction work within the meaning of the Construction Act 1959. Specific provisions are included for gas welding, metal-arc welding, brazing and resistance welding but no attempt has been made to include particular hazards which may be inherent in special industries.
