Specifies functional requirements and design principles for the emergency stop function on machinery, independent of the type of energy used. This standard does not deal with functions such as reversal or limitation of motion, deflection of emissions (e.g. radiation, fluids), shielding, braking or disconnecting, which can be part of the emergency stop function. Applies to all machines, with exception to machines in which the provision of emergency stop would not lessen the risk and hand-held portable machines and hand-guided machines. The revision constitutes a modified adoption of ISO 13850:2015. The modifications reflect the use of references to Australian standards that are modified adoptions of, or not equivalent to, ISO normative references included in the source text and which are required for the application of this standard.
